Horizon Fitness treadmills are made by the same parent company as Vision Fitness and Matrix Fitness. They are known as Johnson Health Tech (JHT). JHT's US headquarters are located in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin. However, their main headquarters are in Taiwan. They have their own factories that produce the essential components and scale needed to make affordable home fitness equipment.

France Home Gym has focused its reviews exclusively on North American models. The T101, Adventure 3, Adventure 5, Elite T7 and Elite T9 are currently included in this list. You will often see treadmill technology overlap between Horizon Fitness and Vision Fitness, as they are both owned by the same parent company.


Both brands share the same advanced console technology and use the Johnson Drive System to reduce noise and increase durability. Horizon combines all of this technology into one package, with just one console per treadmill. Vision lets you choose between Classic, Elegant+ and Touch+.

Warranties for Horizon treadmills are great, but they offer less than the Vision and Matrix brands. The Horizon Elite T7 offers 5 years of cushioning, and the Horizon Elite T7 offers the same for parts. This is compared to the Lifetime Depreciation Coverage and 7 Year Parts Warranty for the Matrix T50 or Vision T80. The Horizon treadmill is half the price of the Vision treadmill and costs about the same as the Matrix.


Even the more expensive Horizon treadmills can hold a little less weight than Vision and Matrix. They can support up to 159 kg on the Elite T9 model, while 181 kg are supported by the Vision T80 or the Matrix T50.


Horizon is able to keep up with other brands in terms of running surface, incline range and belt speed. Horizon's running area measures 51cmLx140cmL on their entry-level T101 and 51cmLx127cmL on their Elite T9. The belt speed is 12 mph on their Adventure or Elite series machines.


These Horizon Fitness treadmills also feature a Passport system for immersive real-world workouts, FeatherLight folding, and ViaFit connectivity to track your performance.


Virtual Active Integrated Platforms Elite T7 treadmills and Elite T9 treadmills include Virtual Active. That means you don't need to purchase Passport Player separately to take advantage of these destination-based workouts. The treadmills also feature an Infinity Belt which has been fitted with synthetic hard wax to reduce maintenance and eliminate lubrication.


The most affordable treadmill from Horizon Fitness is the T101. Their most advanced treadmill, the Elite T9, has more preloaded programs than any other home treadmill.
