Métropole Habitat opens a new Seniors residence in Lyon

Plaisance is the name of Lyon Métropole Habitat's new senior residence in Décines-Charpieu. The tenants signed their lease in early July and are in the process of moving in.

After Champagne-au-Mont-d'Or and Bron, this is Lyon Métropole Habitat's third Vill'Age residence: a new housing solution for seniors at low rent, halfway between classic family housing and the medical-social institution.

Designed to allow seniors to age well at home independently, the Plaisance residence has 78 adapted or very adapted apartments (handrails, extra-flat shower, motorized roller shutters, etc.). It also offers a living environment conducive to social ties between tenants and with the inhabitants of the district. A social life coordinator is present on site on a daily basis. It ensures a role of social animation and develops the program of activities in consultation with the tenants and in relation with the local associative and cultural actors. A municipal nursery is installed on the ground floor of the residence in an intergenerational approach.

Built by Sud Architectes, the Plaisance residence is made up of 2 buildings and has a large common room and a large garden. Lyon Métropole Habitat acquired it in a future state of completion from the developer Noaho.

The project was co-financed by Lyon Métropole Habitat with the State, the metropolis of Lyon, the municipality of Décines-Charpieu and the pension funds Carsat Rhône Alpes and Apicil Agirc Arrco.
