How to warm turkey?

The best approach to reheating turkey is to bake it with broth. You can also reheat it in the pan or in the microwave.

The methods described below apply to any reheated leftover cooked turkey, whether it is a whole turkey, turkey thighs, turkey tenderloins, or turkey cutlets.

Although it is not essential, we recommend that you cut your leftover turkey into small pieces rather than reheating a whole turkey leg for example. If you reheat large pieces, the meat may begin to dry out on the surface while the inside will still be cold.

For food safety reasons, the turkey must reach an internal temperature of at least 75°C before being eaten. At this temperature, most potentially dangerous bacteria are neutralized. You can use a meat thermometer to check the temperature.

HOW TO REHEAT TURKEY?

HOW TO REHEAT TURKEY IN THE OVEN?

For optimal flavor, reheating in the oven is the best option. Although this method is the most time-consuming, it is definitely worth it; you will get a crispy turkey on the outside and tender on the inside. Here's how:

1、Preheat the oven to 180°C.

2、If your turkey is not yet deboned, debone it and cut it into pieces.

3、Put your leftover turkey in a deep ovenproof dish.

4、Pour broth or water into the bottom of the dish so that the turkey pieces are bathed in 1cm of broth or water. Without broth or water, your turkey won't be as tender and flavorful.

5、Cover the dish with aluminum foil. Otherwise, your turkey will dry out and lose its flavor.

6、Reheat the turkey for 15-20 minutes or until heated through.

7、This step is optional. Remove the foil (use oven mitts to avoid burning yourself) and broil the turkey for an additional 3-5 minutes to brown the surface or sear the skin.

8、Let the turkey cool slightly before serving.

HOW TO REHEAT TURKEY ON THE SKILLET?

If you don't have 20 minutes to spare, reheating in a skillet is the next best option. This method only takes 5-7 minutes and is ideal for reheating small amounts of turkey. Here's how:

1、Mice or shred your leftover turkey into small pieces. Bone the turkey if necessary.

2、Heat a skillet over medium heat and add just enough water or broth to cover the bottom.

3、Add the turkey pieces and heat through for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently with a spatula. Meat may overcook if you let it sit too long in one spot.

4、Remove the pan from the heat once the turkey pieces are heated through.

HOW TO REHEAT TURKEY IN THE MICROWAVE?

This method, which only takes 2 minutes, is the fastest and easiest of all. Just follow these steps and you should be fine:

1、Mice or shred your leftover turkey into small pieces. Bone the turkey if necessary.

2、Lay the turkey pieces in a single layer on a large microwave-safe plate. Place the small pieces of turkey in the center of the plate and the large pieces around the edges.

3、Drizzle the turkey pieces with a little olive oil and a teaspoon or two of water. Thus, the meat will retain its tender character. You can also use sauce or broth to add more flavor.

4、Cover with microwave-safe plastic wrap and reheat the leftover turkey in successive 30-second intervals until the turkey pieces are heated through. Try turning the pieces between each cycle.

HOW TO REHEAT FROZEN COOKED TURKEY?

The only correct way to thaw cooked turkey meat is to put it in the refrigerator. Take it out of the freezer and put it in the fridge the day before you plan to eat it. The next day, all you have to do is reheat it using one of the methods described above.
