Underpass and Lake Drain

The installation of a new playground at Lake Uzurat is underway.

The first phase enabled the creation of two playgrounds for children aged 3 to 5 and 6 to 12 years old. The end of the project is scheduled for the end of the first semester.

The space will offer street workout, string games and a relaxation area with picnic tables and barbecues. The structures are mainly made of wood with eco-responsible damping coatings in order to fit into the environmental aspect of the site. Several facilities are adapted for people with disabilities, such as wheelchair-adjusted trampolines. A PMR path makes the different spaces accessible.

House of Nature

Animations, in connection with the City of Limoges for the general public and schoolchildren, will be organized; conferences, themed evenings such as deer slabs, bird migration, etc. A dedicated facilitator will offer to go out into the field to discover the fauna and flora.

Outside the house, on the lake side, a covered ornithological observatory will allow you to observe waterfowl on the lake with telescopes.

Fishing House

Located in place of the building of the old nautical base, the Haute-Vienne federation for fishing and the protection of the aquatic environment should install an educational annex in 2022. The goal is to develop its project of animation and awareness of the biodiversity of aquatic environments and the discovery of leisure fishing, once the rehabilitation work of the building has been carried out. In the long term, it will be a real center of attraction for fishing and the discovery of aquatic environments.

A leisure center with accommodation

The project to build a leisure center instead of the Uzurat campsite has been retained by the municipality.

It is part of a more global perspective of the development of the leisure offer aimed at moving the leisure facilities out of schools (measure adopted when Mas Éloi was closed).

The project of the establishment will be oriented towards raising awareness of the environment, the practice of outdoor sports, science and the discovery of local heritage. Fully integrated into its environment, the building will be of ecological construction, in wood and/or or eco-materials, with green energy production.

The premises will allow the reception, at most, of 250 children for the day on Wednesdays and holidays.

The site will also offer an educational offer for schools (discovery class) during school time in partnership with the various actors present in Uzurat and the municipal services.

Accommodation in tents will be possible for the organization of stays for holidays and school groups, supplemented by permanent accommodation with around sixty places allowing rental for the grouping of sports clubs, associations, training courses or other demonstrations.

A recreational bicycle space to promote active mobility

As part of its health promotion policy, the municipality wishes to encourage learning to cycle from an early age by creating a dedicated educational and fun-sports space on the Uzurat site.

The equipment would consist of three distinct areas: a fun-recreational loop of the pumptrack type, a technical platform and a bike loop surrounding the technical platform and the pumptrack.

The objectives of this project are to introduce parents and educators to an active method of learning to ride a bicycle in order to make children aware of regular, secure and independent practice, from an early age and thus enable them to acquire a skill of off-road driving.

The space will also be an opportunity to discover other practices: balance bike, scooter, tricycle, mountain bike, road bike, trial, mountain bike.
